Curriculum Focus

The consultation provides a non-judgmental forum for discussion and review. 

Our appraoch: We will agree a date and time for the consultation that is convenient to you and identify a named consultant to work with you. This will be confirmed in writing. Our Diocesan associate consultants and professional partners are all practitioners with appropriate and relevant experience in specialist areas, school leadership and management.The consultation is delivered in school by a Diocesan Associate or professional partner. The focus is agreed between the school and the consultant prior to the visit.

What the consultation involves:

  • Bench marking against Ofsted expecations and requirements
  • A review of relevant data
  • A brief note of visit summarising the consultation
  • Sharper focus areas
  • Achievement across the curriculum.

Review

Our approach: We will agree a date and time for the review that is convenient to you and identify a named consultant to work with you. This will be confirmed in writing. Our Diocesan associate consultants and professional partners are all practitioners with appropriate and relevant experience in specialist areas, school leadership and management.The review is delivered in school by a Diocesan Associate or professional partner. Agreed focus between the school and the consultant prior to the visit.

What is involved in the review:

  • 1 day in school
  • A review of relevant data
  • The quality of leadership - monitoring and evaluation; development and action planning
  • The quality of teaching through lesson observation or learning walks
  • Scrutiny of work produced by pupils
  • Discussion with pupils
  • A brief note of visit summarising the discussion of the day
  • In addition, sharper focus could be made on: An overview of the achievement of groups of identified pupils
  • Achievement across the curriculum
  • Schools have found it useful to involve a range of leaders during the day to build capacity through coaching.

Comprehensive Review Report

Our approach: We will agree in advance your request for a comprehensive written report following the review. Our Diocesan associate consultants and professional partners are all practitioners with appropriate and relevant experience in specialist areas, school leadership and management. The report will be compiled after review is delivered in school by a Diocesan Associate or professional partner with the agreed focus between the school and the consultant prior to the visit.

What is involved: Comprehensive written report following review.

Teaching & Learning Senior Leaders and Governor Direct to School Training

Senior Leaders and Governors
Diocesan school officers and professional partners are able to offer a range of bespoke training for both Governors specifically and leadership teams in general.

The way we work: We will agree a date and time for the support that is convenient to you and identify a named consultant to work with you. This will be confirmed in writing. Our Diocesan associate consultants and professional partners are all practitioners with appropriate and relevant experience in specialist areas, school leadership and management.

What the training involves:

  • Developing a fit for purpose School Improvement Plan
  • Sharpening your School's SEF and Headteacher Reports to Governors
  • Designing an effective Monitoring and Evaluation Schedule
  • How to secure effective distributive leadership
  • Effective Governance - how to secure challenge with support
  • Section 8 and Section 5 Inspections - Good Practice and Readiness
  • Subject specific challenge - in reading, writing, maths and the wider curriculum
